Free Travel Insurance

I have to admit that CruiseOne's offer of free travel insurance on all Carnival Cruise Lines 7 night or more sailings, has created a flurry of quotes. I fully expect that lots more bookings will have been made during the booking window of 11/24-26, 2008. I have been very busy - and still one more day before expiration of this great offer.

Fuel Supplements

Many cruise lines are eliminating the fuel supplement charges they imposed earlier during the year. They will be issuing credit or on board spending credit for cruises already paid in full. Time will tell is this sticks around for long. It's good news for now.......

More Carnival balconies for sale today.

Carnival is adding more balconies to three cruise ships.

Carnival announced that it will add balconies to dozens of cabins on three ships -- the Carnival Destiny, Carnival Triumph and Carnival Liberty. Each of the vessels has cabins with floor-to-ceiling windows that will be converted into balcony cabins over the next few months.
The three ships already have 480, 508 and 556 cabins with balconies, respectively, and will be getting 16, 14 and 18 new ones.

Carnival also says it will add two 750-square-foot "deluxe penthouse suites" to the Carnival Liberty that are nearly double the size of the largest cabins in the fleet.

The new penthouse suites on the Liberty will boast a separate bedroom, expansive living area, and two full bathrooms, including one with a bathtub tub. They'll accommodate up to five people.
The new balcony cabins on the three vessels are available for sale as of today.

Groundskeeper at Sea

I read an article just this morning that I thought you'd get a charge out of.........

It seems that Celebrity Cruise Lines has had to hire a groundskeeper (the first ever groundskeeper hired by a cruise line) to maintain and groom the top deck of the new Celebrity Solstice. The top deck will be covered in live grass - a certain type of bent grass from Austria will cover the whole area. The lawn will also feature a bocce ball court.

You just know that sooner or later signs to 'keep off the grass' will be popping up all over the ocean!!!

It's always nice to come home.

Hubby and I just returned from CruiseOne's National Conference aboard the Celebrity Mercury. 8 glorious nights in Alaska. I'm too tired to do much more than exclaim - WOW! - I'll be back later to tell you how it all went.
